Pro Pride had also undertaken a project titled “Empowering Women through Combating Gender Based Violence” for a period of two years in nine kebeles of Dire Dawa with financial support of the EU-Civil Society Fund. The overall goal of the project was to reduce violence against women and girls and its impact on individual, families and the community at large. Pro Pride implemented the project from December 15, 2009 to December 14, 2011 in partnership with the Women Association and Women Affairs Bureaus of Dire Dawa City Administration.
